A Fantastic Pair of French leather Club chairs Circa Chapeau de Gendarme models1950’s
This is a great pair of compact, original French leather club chairs. The lovely, full grain thick leather is in wonderful, original condition. The colour is best described as a warm chestnut, with lighter hues running through, that mellow and intensify according to the changing light. The chairs have no rips or previous repairs. There is one very small area of wear, to one front cushion; this has been checked and will not deteriorate any further. All the necessary seat and cushion work has also been completed for your comfort.
This is a fantastic pair of chairs, stylish and comfortable and whilst being compact still have a generous seat (52cm wide x 51cm deep).

We specialise in original, French, leather club chairs. Even though our stock is quite consistent, finding original club chairs in a very good, original condition is a constant challenge. With our partners in France, we are always on the lookout and our chairs can be found anywhere from a local brocante to a chateau sale, from the north to the south of France.
In our experience, nearly all the chairs will need attention to the springs, after all they're not just objects of beauty, they are to be used. In addition, the leather on our chairs is always nourished and the upholstery cleaned.
