About the Item

Pair of Teak Armchairs with Woven Rattan Seats, Colonial Art Deco Style, Circa 1920-1930 An elegant pair of solid teak armchairs, emblematic of the Colonial Art Deco style, most likely crafted in the Dutch East Indies during the 1920s–1930s. These seats are distinguished by their fluid and dynamic structure: the armrests and base merge into a single, rounded movement, giving the whole an ergonomic and refined silhouette. The teak, beautifully aged with a natural patina, lends warmth and distinction to the pieces, while the woven rattan seats and backs provide both comfort and lightness. A particularly noteworthy detail: the armrests are topped with a gracefully curved wooden element, adding both extra comfort and a rare level of refinement. In good condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with age. The rattan seating was likely carefully restored a few years ago.
