About the Item

A beautifully crafted pair of lounge chairs dating from the 1960s, most likely custom made in America. Newly upholstered in a rich lavender-gray mohair, these chairs exude quiet luxury and sophistication. The design features gently scalloped backs with vertical channel tufting, sculptural arms with open cut-out details, and deep, generously proportioned seats that offer both comfort and visual presence. Set on subtly carved wood legs in a painted strié finish and supported by angular brass stretchers, the chairs balance organic warmth with sleek midcentury glamour. The refined silhouette and quality of construction suggest a bespoke origin, possibly influenced by the work of high-end decorators or ateliers of the period. Ideal for a wide range of interiors—from classic Hollywood Regency to modern eclectic—this expertly restored pair is ready to anchor any room with timeless style. We have included a shot of the upholstery label that the chairs were found with. As you can see they are from the Chicago area at some point in their lives.
