Early 20th Century French Louis XVI Carved and Painted Bergere Bench Chair
About the Item
Enhance a study, office, or elegant corner with this exquisite antique corner bergère. Handcrafted in France circa 1920, this unique wing back chair is designed in the Louis XVI style and features a rare curved silhouette that fits seamlessly into a corner space. The frame rests on classic tapered and fluted legs, each decorated with carved floral rosette medallions. The elegant structure is richly detailed with acanthus leaf carvings at the shoulders and a delicate ribbon and bow motif crowning the arched crest rail. Scrolled armrests add refinement and are topped with upholstered padding for comfort. The wide and deep seat, along with the high curved back, offers both visual presence and inviting coziness.
