About the Item

An exquisite pair of early 19th-century French Empire daybeds, sourced directly from Paris, France. Masterfully crafted from solid mahogany, these daybeds feature sleigh-shaped frames adorned with elegantly hand-carved swan-neck corners. The pair has been meticulously restored, with the frames structurally reinforced and newly upholstered in a cream-colored woven fabric. The upholstery is finished with antique brass nailhead trim, adding a touch of timeless elegance. Each daybed includes a box spring, a loose-fitted cushion, and two bolster pillows for added comfort. The mahogany wood has been refinished to reveal its rich reddish-brown hue, enhanced by a lustrous wax finish. The daybeds rest on gracefully hand-carved, curved legs, with corners decorated by delicate floral motifs. Solid, stable, and showcasing exceptional joinery, these pieces embody the classic French Empire aesthetic with impeccable craftsmanship. - Origin: Paris, France - Dimensions: W 87" x D 34.5" x H 34.5"; Seat dimensions: W 76" x D 31" x H 22" - Condition: The daybeds have been structurally restored, newly upholstered and refinished.
