About the Item
1950's Original French Multipl's Metal Dining Chairs - Pair.
Designed by Joseph Mathieu and made in Pierre Benite in Lyon. These chairs are an iconic part of Industrial French History. Each chair was hand pressed in huge industrial presses before being hand welded together. The chairs are in their original paint showing wear commensurate with their age. These chairs make an exceptional design statement but are also a good practical scale as a dining chair for regular use. Multipl's was, in its day the competitor to Tolix, although sadly Multipl's did not survive. Examples of Multipl's chairs in this condition are becoming increasingly rare, many that are available do not have the original paint and/or they have been badly restored. We service and wax each chair individually before they leave our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. We specialise in high quality vintage dining chairs and have a large range. Seat Height 45cm.
Workshop Report:
Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
