An exceptional set of six Louis XV style carved walnut dining chairs, finely crafted with the elegance and artistry reminiscent of the Rococo revival period. This sophisticated suite includes two armchairs with fully upholstered backs and four side chairs with intricately carved open backs, enhanced by refined gilt accents that highlight their graceful silhouettes and ornate detailing.
Though unsigned, the chairs exhibit a level of craftsmanship and design execution on par with luxury furniture houses such as Baker Furniture, Theodore Alexander, and Maitland-Smith. Each frame is meticulously carved, with flowing lines, hand-chiseled floral and foliate motifs, and curvaceous cabriole legs, embodying the sensuous form and decorative richness of 18th-century French Louis XV style.
The two armchairs feature sculptural profiles with gently arched crests and fully upholstered backs and seats, offering supreme comfort and an added sense of formality—ideal for the heads of a dining table. The upholstery harmonizes beautifully with the warm tones of the walnut.
