About the Item

Augusto Savini for Pozzi dining room chairs, Italy 1968. A gorgeous set of high-quality dining room chairs designed by architect Augusto Savini for the manufactory Pozzi at the end of the 1960s was first presented at Pozzi's Gallerie Lafayette in 1968. These beautiful chairs are made entirely of wood and curved in the back. The back of the chairs is connected to the seat by steel inserts. They are in excellent original condition. The color of the wood is very warm and is suitable for elegant settings, such as living rooms and dining rooms, family rooms, screening room, or offices. It also perfectly fits in a hospitality or corporate location like a boutique hotel, restaurant, members club, or luxury loft. When you choose for used modern design, you use what is already there, making it sustainable. You may not give the furniture a second, but even a third or fourth life. Mid-century design furniture is often a high-quality product that lasts several lives for a reason. Some furniture has a rich history, and the story is still visible or tangible with some. The signs of wear give a glimpse into the previous owner's life. Price per chair, 26 chairs available.

Luisella dining chairs by Franco Albini, ed.Poggi 1955
By Franco Albini, Poggi
Located in Renens, CH
Rare suite of six “Luisella” chairs by Franco Albini for Carlo Poggi, Pavia, Italy 1955. Teak and cotton fabric. After working for some 15 years on several prototypes of the model, Italian designer, architect and urban planner Franco Albini (1905-77) completed what is considered a masterpiece: the Luisa armchair, with armrests, and Luisella, the chair without armrests. The final teak version was put into production by Carlo Poggi in 1955. The Luisa is often compared to the equally minimal and robust Leggera chair, designed by architect and designer Giò Ponti, with whom Albini apprenticed after graduating in architecture from Milan's Polytechnic University in 1929. Albini's blend of functionalism and style earned him numerous awards, including the 1955 Compasso d'Oro, a prestigious Italian prize for excellence in industrial design. (Award created by Gio Ponti in 1954). It is also in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Luisa chair, with armrests, is still produced by Cassina. The Luisella chair, without armrests, is no longer produced. The chairs has been bought by the first owner together with a Chelsea Table by Vittorio Introini for Saporiti that we have also in stock at the Galleria...

Augusto Bozzi Ariston dining chairs Saporiti Italy 1954
By Saporiti, Augusto Bozzi
Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant
Highly rare and beautiful set of 6 so called ‘Ariston’ dining chairs designed by Augusto Bozzi and manufactured by Saporiti, Italy 1954. These chairs have a pressed plywood seat which is finished with teak veneer at the front and back, the black painted metal wire frame supports the seats. The structure provides stability and also a nice contrast with the deep coloured plywood seats. The seats are only connected to the base with 2 screws which are decoratively worked away in the seat, but these details also support the aesthetics of the design. This style was popular in the 1950s. Bozzi was one of the designers who gained credits for his designs during that period, putting Saporiti on the map and becoming one of the big players...
