About the Item
Trotter is the first piece in ACOOCOORO's new steel and leather seating series, partially informed by equestrian sports' paraphernalia. The rolled steel structure turns and travels in a seemingly endless loop, supporting the repurposed leather cords and the upholstered seat and back. Setting out to create a «simple, even minimal» chair, creative director Martín Salido-Orcillo found the resulting piece unappealing, and began to play with the piece's silhouette and ornamentation, quickly confirming ACOOCOORO's belief: delicacy and simplicity —or rather
the perception of simplicity— don't come from austerity, excessive synthesis, or from the reduction of objects and spaces to their minimum, most essential or functional form.
