About the Item

A most elegant and high quality set of eight French turn of the century Louis XVI st. Walnut dining chairs. Each chair is raised by fine circular fluted tapered legs with lovely topie shaped feet. Above each leg are carved block reserves flanking the bombee shaped frieze decorated with a mottled design. The chairs display a wide seat below the oval upholstered back support which is decorated with a fine mottled design at the border. All original warm patina throughout.
