About the Item

Currently, the most coveted dining chairs by interior designers are 'Tucroma' chairs by Guido Faleschini for i4 Mariani, and we have this incredible pair (2) of Tucroma armchairs in beautiful spotted brown and white cowhide leather with black lacquered frames. The seats and backs have soft cowhide leather upholstery and are attached to graceful polished black lacquered steel tubular frames, as well as being bridged together by wide cognac leather straps at the back with hand-tied detail. This set is brand new. The leather option selected for this pair is customized with speciality Italian hair-on-hides in spotted brown and white. If you are interested in custom leather, fabric and frame colors contact for more details. i4 Mariani was a specialty Italian design division of the Pace Collection and Guido Faleschini was the star designer who created famous designs such as the Tucroma line and a line of bedroom furniture for Hermès. Mariani still produces the Tucroma chair to the same specifications as the 1970s along with a full line of high quality designs with expert Italian craftsmanship. We carry a large selection of designs by i4 Mariani and Guido Faleschini, contact us if you are looking for anything else. This is an interior design magazine cover worthy set of chairs and would look so amazing with a marble or travertine dining table, such as designs by Angelo Mangiarotti and Roche Bobois or lacquered goatskin tables by Karl Springer and Steve Chase. This sleek set of dining / arm / side chairs by Guido Faleschini for Mariani would inject some 1970s Italian modern into any interior and would compliment various locations such as a Mid-Century Modern, Contemporary, Postmodern, neoclassical, or Transitional dining room, living room, den, games room, office space, entryway or bedroom. Consider using as a throne chair, lounge chair, side chair, occasional chair, consider even for a dressing room or large walk in closet. Would be great as a reading armchair or chair to soak in a view. It would also be perfect in a hospitality or corporate location, such as; a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office, or in a luxe clothing emporium. Consider pairing with items from Leon Rosen for Pace, Charles Hollis Jones, Vladimir Kagan or Pierre Paulin. Also can work great with a Willy Rizzo, Maison Jansen or Aldo Tura dining / breakfast / cafe / game table. Mario Bellini for Cassina 'Cab 414' Leather Lounge Chair, Signed, circa 1980s
By Cassina, Mario Bellini
Located in Los Angeles, CA
A beautiful black leather Mario Bellini Cab lounge chair, Model #414, signed Cassina, designed in the 1970s. These fine examples of the cab line by Mario Bellini for Cassina are classic staples for luxury interior designers and collectors alike, these lounge variations of the design are larger and deeper than the similar dining armchair, and have the addition of the seat cushion. Signed underneath with Cassina embossing to the leather. Mario Bellini described the 1970s bestselling design for the Cab collection as “This was a new kind of chair, constructed totally out of leather, much cloned since then.” and is now a signature piece in Cassina’s Contemporanei collection. Cab was the first-ever chair to feature a free-standing leather structure, inspired by how our skin fits over our skeleton. The upholstery consists of sixteen pieces of saddle leather. They then undergo fourteen discrete procedures, again by hand. The pieces are sewn together only when their outer edges have been trimmed to ensure a perfect fit. Once assembled, the cover is attached to the chair’s steel skeleton and held in place by means of a zipper fastening as in a bespoke tailored...

Pair of Club Chairs by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani Italy, c 1970, Signed
By Sormani, Claudio Salocchi
Located in Los Angeles, CA
This newly reupholstered pair of club chairs by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani, circa 1970s, features graceful chrome frames with nubby white bouclé fabric. Signed with 1960s/ 1970s Sormani label as shown in photo gallery. *Note, we have the matching sofa available in another listing. The graceful frames share a design quality with Cassina's LC2 / LC3 design by Le Corbusier, as they are 'buckets of cushions' in similar fashion and comfort. However these Sormani lounge chairs feature some unique subtle details, such as the slight "twist" in the rear legs (see photos). Signed with a Sormani label, this particular rare design is attributed to Claudio Salocchi. While there were several other famous designers who created works for Sormani in this time period, the style best matches Salocchi's work. For collectors looking for something unique and rare within a collection of 1960s/ 1970s Italian designs, this pair of easy chairs are an amazing opportunity. These Cassina LC2 / LC3 style chairs...
