About the Item
Rare pair of cafe, bistro style dining chairs, having repeating circular speed band stretchers, a curved backrest, and a circular upholstered pad seat. Executed in the Art Deco and Vienna Secessionist styles, these examples show influence of both Art Deco designers like Gilbert Rohde, and Secessionist designers like Hoffman, and Thonet. Circa 1900/1930's, probably made in the USA, in the Austrian style, unsigned. Offered and priced as a pair.
