Designed in the 1960s, this chair is a true representation of Mid-Century Modern design and craftsmanship. Constructed from bentwood maple, the chair retains it's original condition with light signs of wear and patina consistent with age. The caned back is also original and adds an elegant touch to the design. The seat, recovered in a thick-cut genuine leather hide is in new, never-sat-in condition and features new medium density foam for maximum comfort and longevity. Together, they created a unique aesthetic that was both modern and timeless. Stendig is a well-known furniture manufacturer known for its high-quality, mid-century modern designs. Founded in the 1960s, the company continues to produce iconic designs that are sought after by collectors and interior designers alike. This Bentwood Prague Model 811 side chair is not only a stunning piece of furniture but also a piece of art.
