About the Item

A rare, vintage set of 6 curule chairs by Maison Jansen. A true collector's gem, each piece exudes a glamorous and chic style that seamlessly blends the past with the present. Recently reimagined, these chairs have been newly upholstered with the luxurious Kravet Couture Esoteric velvet fabric in the color Aged Bronze. This fabric is no longer in production and this elevates their exclusivity and appeal. The attention to detail is further accentuated by the tasteful addition of leather piping and tufting buttons, enhancing their refined and polished look. Constructed from a sturdy and heavy combination of iron and brass, these chairs promise durability and stability, while their frames are stamped on the bottom of the brass feet, ensuring authenticity and craftsmanship. Maison Jansen, the influential Paris-based design firm founded in 1880, was known for blending historical styles with contemporary sophistication and worked with elite clients including royalty and heads of state. These chairs are a strong example of the firm’s ability to reinterpret classical motifs with luxe, modern execution.
