Set of 4 Carved Dining Room Chairs in Louis XIII Style with Velvet Seat and Back
About the Item
This sumptuously hand-carved walnut Louis XIII style side chair is a truly a rare find. The edges rail of the chair features exceptionally deep relief carvings of acanthus leaves. The artistry of the wood carver defies understanding since the three dimensional carvings are one and half inches deep. The legs are also carved in great detail with Solomonic legs. Ideal as a desk chair or as a stand-alone chair as a statement piece, circa 1880.
