A rare set of six dining chairs, ash wood, ebony inlay banding, Biedermeier, Central Germany, c. 1830/35, Upholstery more recent. Provenance: Private Collection, New York, New York Ritter Antik, Inc., New York & Frankfurt. 19" wide x 17.5" deep x 34.25" high overall x 19" seat height 19" wide x 16" deep interior seat dimensions Condition: Evidence of earlier restorations on the back rail of two chairs. General wear, scuff and minor scratches mainly to the finish on the legs. Good stable structural condition. Upholstery a bit faded but complete.
