About the Item
A fine set of six hand carved French country walnut dining chairs, two arm chairs and four side chairs, each with a simple carved crest, pierce carved splat, cabriole legs, and H form stretchers. The rush seats on the side chairs are slip seats, a few of which have been more recently rewoven. The set dates to the 20th century and are in very good overall condition, with some edge rubs, minor losses, faded surface, and wear commensurate with age and use. A few have a little wiggle and could be tightened in the joints. Dimensions: Arm chairs: 43.13 in H x 25.75 in W x 21 in D; Side chairs: 42.75 in H x 18.25 in W x 18 in D.
