Set Original Vintage Industrial Factory Machinist Singer Sewing Chairs Stool
About the Item
- A beautiful set of original Singer sewing chairs, England circa 1940.
- The chairs feature a branded heavy die-cast iron base in their original grey painted finish, and that hold a swivel mechanism to adjust the seating height. Steam bent ply seat and back rest which have been recently french polished to match their original warm colour. Beautiful condition but showing signs of wear and age throughout.
- Height: 85.5cm, Width: 39cm, Depth: 46cm, Seat Height: 41-55cm.

Singer The Corporation is an American manufacturer of sewing machines, first established as I. M. Singer & Co. in 1851 by Isaac Merritt Singer. Buoyed by its success, Singer took the initiative in 1910 by marketing specially adapted furniture: a stool with cast iron base and original timber seat launched the range. Years later, the stool was fitted with a spring and backrest and became the illustrious adjustable chair.
