French 19th Century Louis XVI Duchesse Brisee, Signed Jansen, Paris

About the Item

A most attractive French late 19th century Louis XVI st. Mahogany and ormolu mounted duchesse brisee, signed Jansen, Paris. The three piece lady's armchair is raised by tapered fluted legs below a moulded frieze. The frieze is adorned with an ormolu spiral ribbon design throughout the arm chair, ottoman and side chair. The winged armchair has a richly carved top central reserve of flowers below a large bow. Exceptional quality and rich warm patina throughout.
