Set of Italian 18th Century Louis XVI Period Armchairs

About the Item

A striking and complete set of Italian 18th century Louis XVI period patinated and giltwood four armchairs and their matching settee, from Naples. Each is raised by elegant square tapered fluted giltwood and patinated legs. Above each leg are block reserves with a recessed patinated band extending along the frieze with fine giltwood fillets. The carved square arms display finely carved circular supports with most decorative foliate and fluted designs. The upholstered back support is framed within a lovely patinated border with additional elegant giltwood fillets. The original and matching settee is raised by six legs and is decorated in the same manner. Settee H: 37" L: 56.25" D: 16.5" Seat H: 17.75"
