Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this SUPER RARE and highly collectable Minty Oxford three piece sofa and pair of armchairs suite along with the original 1933 dated receipt!

Where to begin! Firstly, after 20+ years of buying and selling antiques including hundreds if not thousands of Minty Oxford stacking bookcases, I had no idea they ever made seating, secondly, to come complete with the original, 90 year old receipt is just insane
The suite was made for Jno Lawrence & Co of 20 Drymen Road, Bearsden Glasgow and it was delivered on March 21-22nd 1933 after being ordered / commissioned on the 18th Jan of the same year
The suite was made from new to have removable covers which it still has to this day, they are in good order throughout as are the frames in general which should the new owner wish, they could be easily upholstered as they have the calico linings
This suite is pure Art Deco, the lines, elegance and form just screams New York 1930's style and charm, this suite belongs in a museum for its rarity and originality

Condition

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
