Pair of armchairs, mahogany plywood, faux leather, metal, Italy, 1950s
These easy chairs embody an exquisite form made possible by the inherent quality of the plywood, resulting in sharp, sleek lines and solid geometry. The crescent-shaped backrest and outward-facing armrests add an elegant touch to the chairs, counterbalancing the overall heavy appearance. The armrests are secured to the frame by means of nails, further enhancing the robust look of the chairs. The seats are upholstered in a fine leatherette marked by a pink camel tone. These chairs serve as a testament to the artistry and impeccable craftsmanship of the designer.
Please note that the fabric is in used condition with visible wear marks, scratches and stains. The wood contains signs of use, with loose and repaired veneer. Reupholstery and restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery and restoration is possible as well.
