About the Item
The colours and shape of the Cartagenas Lounge Chair are inspired by Sebastian Herkner’s visit to Colombia’s buzzing coastal city Cartagena de Indias. “Fishing pelicans, women selling fruit, cozy restaurants: Cartagena lures you in with its many facets and this collection also plays with perspectives”, describes Sebastian the collection. The elegant, curved chair can be used indoors and outdoors and comes either with a seat and back in contrasting colours or a monochrome version. The coloured strings, made from recycled PVC, are woven by hand around the steel frame, using two different colours for seat and back. The Colombian craftspeople, based in Bogota, use an especially intricate weaving technique to create a neat contrast. It takes them three days to complete one chair
