Art Deco Club/Lounge Chairs in Walnut with Rare Clarence House Upholstery

About the Item

This Pair of Art Deco Club Chairs in Walnut with Rare Clarence House Upholstery originate from France, Circa 1930. Featuring wide arm rests in curving sculptural gleaming walnut, these comfortable chairs have a bold profile with incredible design and material quality. The arm rests lead the eye downwards where they precisely end in line with the bottom edge of the upholstered side panels, revealing an open form walnut base resembling sled runners. The base rewards careful observation and gives the significant presence of these chairs a light and elegant feel. The fabric truly dynamic and special, discontinued by Clarence House and extremely rare, this Art Deco Cubist pattern balances hues of green, yellow, and muted reds and pinks in a lovely dance of values and overlapping shapes. This pair of Club Chairs are brilliantly designed and proportioned, styling beautifully in a wide array of interiors and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary spaces.
