About the Item

Yellow fiberglass Merat tripod lounge chair designed by Ed Merat, France 1956 original 1950ies edition of the Merat tripod lounge chair The chair has a beautiful yellow translucent fiberglass seat shell with strong fiber structure clearly visible. It is equipped with tripod base in enameld steel, that originally allowed to pull out the rear leg if the chair is not used to prohibit water standing on the molded seat. Original condition, the fiberglass seat shell is in good vintage condition with signs of use and wear. You will notice slight discoloration on the rear, the shell shows no cracks or structural damages. The tripod base shows corrosion and therefore it is no longer possible to pull out the rear leg to attach it in rain position.
