About the Item
A beautiful lounge chair designed by Jorgen Kastholm, manufactured in Denmark around 1960.
This elegant piece has a tubular, chrome plated metal frame with leather upholstered seat, back and armrests. The combination of materials creates a really nice contrast and appeal to this modern chair! A wonderful find of Scandinavian mid-century design. It has a very comfortable seating experience as can be expected of a Kastholm design.
The piece remains in good, vintage condition with only minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.

Jørgen Kastholm
Jørgen Kastholm was born in Roskilde. Kastholm first trained as a smith but soon turned to furniture design. He attended the School for Interior Design in Copenhagen, where he studied under Finn Juhl. At the beginning of the 1960s, working in Lebanon, he was inspired to design the Scimitar Chair. He also furnished the SAS office there.
