About the Item
This lounge chair was manufactured by Karavco, a furniture and upholstery accessories company. They developed a new material, the Karavco panel, which they used to prototype several lounge chairs, including this one. The chairs are manually shaped, giving each chair a slightly different look.
The pleats in the panel make it seem as though a soft blanket was spread over the chair, although it is quite a rigid construction.
Karavco panel has a glossy and a decorative side. It is a flexible material and has very good physical and mechanical qualities, allowing the designer to explore freely.
