About the Item

First model of the Karelia armchair, designed by Liisi Beckmann in 1966 for Zanotta. The armchair features its original white vinyl upholstery. One of the first frameless armchairs made entirely of polyurethane foam. The soft, wave-like surface draws inspiration from the designer's homeland, the Republic of Karelia in Finland indented by inlets and gulfs. The new textile covering replaces the vinyl of the 1970s.
