Mexican Midcentury Lounge Chair, “Malinche“, 1950s
About the Item
The Malinche factory crafted hundreds of unique furniture designs from the beginning of the last century until its closure in the 1960s after a devastating fire. Today, Malinche furniture is remembered for the quality of its craftsmanship as well as it’s meticulously sourced woods — features difficult to find in contemporary Mexican furniture: Elm-grown American Elm. This piece is stamped by the company’s trademark: "Malinche Monterrey Sillería,” and has been carefully restored to maintain its authenticity. The piece has been completely reupholstered using genuine Mexican leather, beige. The woodwork is a semi-matte finish, with no additional stain.
