Midcentury oak and cane lounge chair by American architect Edward Durell Stone, manufactured by Fulbright Furniture, 1945. Custom ivory seat cushion with black welting. literature: Edward Durell Stone: Evolution of an Architect, Durell Stone, pg. 103 Edward Durell Stone (March 9, 1902-August 6, 1978) was an American architect known for the formal, highly decorative buildings he designed in the 1950s and 1960s. His works include the Museum of Modern Art, in New York City, the United States Embassy in New Delhi, India, The Keller Center at the University of Chicago, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Wood surfaces have been lightly cleaned over time. Structurally sound. Small points of wear to caning. Overall in fine vintage condition. The two wooden screw caps that would have been on the the back of the chair (lower two screws) are missing.
