About the Item
Mini Lotus chair designed by Daniel Wenger in the 1960s. Handmade during the 1970s and currently produced since 2009 by Daniel and his son Sam. Solid burnished steel frame with heavy handpicked Latigo leather sling.
Dan Wenger is an American furniture designer and craftsman who is known for his innovative use of materials and traditional woodworking techniques. He was born in 1954 in southern California and has been working as a designer and craftsman for over 40 years. Wenger's designs are often characterized by their organic forms and attention to detail, and he is known for his use of a wide range of materials, including wood, metal, glass, and concrete. He is particularly noted for his use of reclaimed wood, which he sources from old buildings, factories, and other structures.
Wenger's work has been featured in a number of publications and exhibitions, and he has won numerous awards for his designs, including the 2005 Niche Award for Best Accessory Design. He is also a member of the Furniture Society and has served on its board of directors.
