About the Item

Very comfortable early 1960s lounge chair with adjustable tilt mechanism. The design of this chair, a Naugahyde upholstery over a steel structure, was very innovative at the time and is adopted from the automobile industry. Attributed to Osvaldo Borsani. The oxblood red Naugahyde is still in wonderful original condition. A very comfortable lounge chair. Osvaldo Borsani (1911-1985) was an influential Italian designer and architect, celebrated for his contributions to mid-century modern furniture design. Co-founding the Tecno company in 1953 with his brother Fulgenzio, Borsani pioneered innovative, functional, and elegant furniture solutions. His designs, such as the P40 lounge chair and the D70 sofa, are iconic for their blend of form and versatility. Borsani's work seamlessly integrated technology with craftsmanship, pushing the boundaries of industrial design.
