Beautiful pair of art deco lounge chairs, revealing distinctly graceful silhouettes characteristic for mid-century Italian design. The chairs' form is immediately distinguished by a softly contoured backrest that sweeps outward in a gentle arc, which envelops the sitter in a gentle, concave embrace. The backrest tapers gently into the seat, forming a cohesive unit that avoids any abrupt transitions. This is particularly characteristic of Italian design sensibilities of the time, which emphasized continuity and a kind of organic unity. The slightly convex seat mirrors this smoothness. The armrests are characterized by a sinuous, S-shaped curve that bridges the seat and the floor, further complementing the chairs’ soft and organic allure.
