Pair of 1940s Carved and Lacquered Lounge Chairs with Blue Leather Upholstery

About the Item

Originally purchased at Marshall Field and Company's State Street store in the 1940s, these carved wood club chairs are finished in a distressed grey glazing over white undercoat. The open-arm sections are filled with heavy brass grilles, and the upholstery is blue metallic leather that has acquired a nice patina over the years. The style is much in the manner of Grosfeld House.
