Pair of 'Blumen' Floral Lounge Chairs by Henning Korch for Swan Italiana, 1970s

About the Item

The ‘Blumen’ chair, designed by Henning Korch for Swan Italiana in the 1970s, captures Korch’s mastery of proportion with lines that echo the soft bloom of a flower. The curved backrest flows effortlessly into the seat, offering a balance of ergonomic comfort and sculptural form. Wrapped entirely in foam and upholstered in its original floral fabric, the design invites relaxation with a nostalgic warmth. Each chair is supported by a sturdy wooden frame. The partnership between Danish designer Henning Korch and Italian manufacturer Swan Italiana, in the 1960s and 1970s, brought together Scandinavian modernist design and Italian craftsmanship. Korch’s minimalist, functional forms were enhanced by Swan Italiana's expertise in upholstery and attention to detail. The result was a collection of furniture, like the Blumen chair, that combined clean lines and organic shapes with luxurious comfort. Condition: Good vintage condition, with minor scratches and wear to the wooden bases. We have elected to sell these chairs in their current state, with light marks and stains along the fabric. Upholstery services are available through our showroom (Fabric + Upholstery Labor is not included in the purchase price).
