About the Item

This incredible pair of fiberglass lounge chairs were sourced in Rio, Brazil and recently imported and then restored here in Los Angeles. We are unsure the designer of these chairs, they were acquired along with a set of Percival Lafer fiberglass sofa and club chairs from the same home giving thought these might also be by Lafer. We had a set of four but have sold two to an AD featured designer home, so this is our remaining pair. While we would prefer to keep the pair together, contact us if you wish to purchase a single chair and we would consider it. This set of fiberglass garden chairs feature an incredible silhouette, masterful curves and lines - interior designers, this is a rare opportunity to get something truly unique for your favorite client or project. These Brazilian Modern fiberglass patio chairs would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Consider using as side chairs, dining, cafe or breakfast table chairs, bedside chairs, fireside chairs, dressing or changing room chairs, hallway chairs, entryway or mudroom chairs, nursing or reading chairs, conference room chairs, office or desk guest chairs, lobby lounge chairs or occasional chairs ideal in virtually any setting. MEASUREMENTS: H 28.5" x W 30.75" x D 25.5" Seat Height: 13.5" Seat Depth: 17.5" CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. Was refinished with white color paint and is ready for immediate use.

Monumental Pair of Fiberglass 'Jennifer' Lounge Chairs by Michael Taylor, 1970s
By Michael Taylor
Located in Los Angeles, CA
So many incredible aspects to this pair of monumentally sized 'Jennifer' lounge chairs by Michael Taylor, circa 1970s, we will attempt to list them all in this description. First, and most noticeably, is the size. They are huge, humungous, monumental, enormous... I mean, they are incredibly large. You can easily fit two people and a dog in a single chair and have room to cuddle, snuggle, hang-out, watch a movie, have drinks in an intimate setting, or even fall asleep comfortably cradled. It's not just how wide they are but also the depth also provides a dramatic increase in overall 'lounging' footprint of the chairs. These chairs are so large, they shouldn't even be called chairs, they are somewhere between a loveseat and a daybed - perhaps they should be called lovebeds instead? The second thing that we absolutely love about these chairs is its design history. The Jennifer chair is one of Michael's earliest designs. Michael designed it for actress Jennifer Jones (Mrs. Norton Simon), she asked him for a chair that she could curl her legs in and relax and this monumental chair...

Pair of Club Chairs by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani Italy, c 1970, Signed
By Sormani, Claudio Salocchi
Located in Los Angeles, CA
This newly reupholstered pair of club chairs by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani, circa 1970s, features graceful chrome frames with nubby white bouclé fabric. Signed with 1960s/ 1970s Sormani label as shown in photo gallery. *Note, we have the matching sofa available in another listing. The graceful frames share a design quality with Cassina's LC2 / LC3 design by Le Corbusier, as they are 'buckets of cushions' in similar fashion and comfort. However these Sormani lounge chairs feature some unique subtle details, such as the slight "twist" in the rear legs (see photos). Signed with a Sormani label, this particular rare design is attributed to Claudio Salocchi. While there were several other famous designers who created works for Sormani in this time period, the style best matches Salocchi's work. For collectors looking for something unique and rare within a collection of 1960s/ 1970s Italian designs, this pair of easy chairs are an amazing opportunity. These Cassina LC2 / LC3 style chairs...
