About the Item

An encounter with the founder of Italian furniture company Gavina at the 1957 XI Triennale in Milan is what led Kazuhide Takahama – who initially trained as an architect – to start creating his own designs for the home. Their partnership would go on to birth several significant pieces, among them the Saghi lounge chair which was produced in 1972. The chairs feature a sloping seat and curved backrest, all balanced on a chrome frame. This pair has recently been reupholstered in off-black pony hair.
