Italy, ca. 1950s. A handsome pair of open frame lounge chairs imported by Otto Gerdau - very much in the style of Gio Ponti. Each features a solid ebonized birch frame with supportive high back, gracefully flared arms, and tapered legs. Freshly upholstered in a soft plaid chenille with new cushion inserts, these would be a lovely addition to a living room or den. Attractive from all angles, the condition is excellent.
