"SUSPENSION 8" Post Industrial, Modernist suspension Lounge Chair, Joe Moran

About the Item

"SUSPENSION 8" Post Industrial, Modernist suspension Lounge Chair by Western New York Artist Joe Moran,, Sculpture in motion , Hand built ,bespoke. Amazing design.. Heavy welded steel construction. Extremely comfortable,, Hand Delivery avail to New York City or anywhere en route from Buffalo Joseph Moran is a metal sculptor who successfully crafted the function of furniture through the creative endeavor of artistic expression. Astudent of furniture design at the State University College of New York at Buffalo, Moran felt stifled by the confines of traditional programs, so he sought to add a more expressionistic and sculptural approach to his work by pursuing further education in the fine arts..Living within his working space creates an ideal situation, it allows for the spontaneity that he feels is vital to the creative process and, consequently, he rarely works from even the roughest of sketches, Moran explores forms. which are not purely functional .. their function is, in fact, often secondary to their status as visual and sculptural objects. This provides emotional and aesthetic stimulus in addition to practical use. He works for form in harmony with, not subservient to. function.Moran uses post industrial materials resulting in eclectic structures designed to provoke debate and raise questions concerning society's future, For example, the construction of a chair is challenged to reveal not only comfort but also bold, fluid lines of imagery. He seeks to merge objects, juxtapose histiries and investigate relationships within forms, His work reflects an inimitable style which changes the way one perceives a piece of furniture.
