About the Item
A really clean example of a 20th Century teak Hillcrest Captain’s office desk chair dating from the 1940s, with a spindle-back on splayed legs and castors. The Hillcrest mechanism allows the chair to recline back, adjust the seat height, and rotate 360 degrees. Stamped ‘”Hillcrest” Reg Trade Mark, W.H.F. Made in England’ on the mechanism below the seat.
The teak chair is in good solid condition, the green velour seat pad complete, and the brass upholstery studs nicely patinated. There are period repairs to the back - a professional restoration looking at the quality of the repair - and the mechanism works well.
