This elegant 19th-century French Empire desk chair, carved circa 1870, features a sculptural mahogany frame with a rich, warm patina and classic neoclassical lines. The barrel-form back is gracefully curved, flowing seamlessly into bold, scroll-carved arm supports. The seat is upholstered in smooth black leather, secured with antique brass nailhead trim that adds a refined finishing touch. Raised on splayed back legs and front cabriole legs, the chair exhibits the balanced proportions and architectural presence characteristic of the Empire period.
