19th Century French Empire Mahogany and Leather Desk Armchair with Bronze Mounts

About the Item

Decorate a man's office or study with this elegant antique armchair. Hand carved in France circa 1890 and built of mahogany, the armchair stands on tapered legs decorated with gilt bronze female figure mounts at the shoulder, and ending with paw sabot feet. The rectangular back with scrolled top is dressed with gilt bronze foliage mount at the pediment; both back, seat and armrests are upholstered with new black leather, and embellished throughout with decorative brass nail heads. The comfortable desk chair is in excellent condition, and adorns a rich French patinated polish finish. Measures: 25" W x 24" D x 37.5" H.
