Glass chair in the Manner of Louis Dierra

About the Item

This striking curved glass chair, inspired by the iconic designs of Louis Dierra for the Glass Centre Pavilion at the 1939 World’s Fair in New York, represents a masterful blend of artistry and engineering. Manufactured in Italy during the 1980s, this chair embodies the spirit of innovation and modernism that characterized the era. Crafted from high-quality curved glass, it features a sleek and transparent design that allows it to seamlessly integrate into various interior spaces while maintaining a visually lightweight presence. Currently upholstered in a cleanable black vinyl fabric, this chair offers both style and practicality. The fabric’s dark hue provides a classic touch that complements the chair's transparent structure. However, the chair’s upholstery can be easily changed to merge and blend with any interior design color scheme, making it a versatile addition to any space. The strength of the chair lies in the remarkable properties of its material; the use of tempered glass not only provides durability and stability but also allows the piece to support the weight of its user without compromising its elegance. Its transparent structure creates an illusion of invisibility, making it an ideal choice for contemporary interiors where space is a concern. This quality enables the chair to blend harmoniously with its surroundings, allowing other design elements in the room to take center stage while still offering a sculptural focal point. In very good condition, this curved glass chair is not just a functional seating option; it is a statement piece that captures the essence of modern design. Whether used in a living room, office, or gallery space, it enhances the ambiance with its minimalist aesthetic and timeless appeal. For those seeking a unique addition to their collection, this chair represents both historical significance and contemporary style, making it a standout piece in any interior. A timeless icon of design this wonderful set of eight model #3107 (also known as the "Series-7") stacking dining chairs in black were designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1955. This set are an early production model with a rarely seen registered and numbered metal CAP, April 1964. In the late 60’s Fritz Hansen then changed to the more commonly seen plastic stamped CAP. The CAP carries the Made in Denmark, the Danish Control FurnitureMakers emblem and the FH logo along with the year. This is important for collectors who are not looking to buy the more usual plastic CAP chairs you find on later production models. This highly practical early set of 8 dining side chairs...
