About the Item
To make pure, elementary, ideal form into something comfortable. Beneath these spheroidal forms, visually striking, but apparently uncomfortable, seemingly useless, the technology of ecological foam rubber, together with a rigid plastic structure, combine to create a way of sitting in anatomical comfort, based on geometric forms that adapt to the human body and then return to their sculpted form, again and again.
Flexible seating/footrest in oval shape in flexible polyurethane, cold-processed without CFC, with internal rigid structure. Two lateral slits keep the removable cover in bi-elastic fabric, available in three types and several colours.
Born in Campagnola near Reggio Emilia in 1950, Denis Santachiara started his career in 1966 as a designer at the Fiat Style Centre. He makes hi-tech designer objects of great artistic density that he displays in solo and group shows in prestigious locations as the 1980 Venice Biennale and the Grand Palais in Paris. The numerous exhibitions that he has organized include “La Neomerce” at the Triennale in Milan in 1985 and the Pompidou Centre in Paris. He also curated the “New Persona” display for the 1996/97 Florence Biennale. Santachiara has worked with Baleri Italia since 1995 and he is the author of hugely successful ironic and poetic projects such as Mama, Tato and Celine.
