French Bentwood + Seagrass Rope Settee, 1950s

About the Item

A sculptural 1950s French settee, reminiscent of designs by Erich Dieckmann. Crafted from richly stained bentwood, this piece showcases exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. The seat and backrest are wrapped in finely woven seagrass rope, forming an intricate, textured basketweave pattern. Soft, flowing curves in the frame, echoed in the gracefully contoured armrests, embody the Bauhaus philosophy. Condition: In great vintage condition. The wooden frame has been professionally refinished by our team of restorationists. Minor indentations and natural wood splits have developed over time, which do not affect the piece's usability or structural integrity. Additional Dimensions: Seat Depth: 20"
