A striking and most elegant Italian 19th century giltwood settee. The settee is raised by fine topie shaped legs with a lovely beaded design below carved recessed block reserves. The straight frieze displays a mottled design while the cushioned arm supports display an elegant baluster shape. The tufted back displays a beautiful scalloped shaped movement with richly carved scrolled foliate elements at each side. All original gilt throughout.
