Paint Decorated French Louis XVI Tapestry Upholstered French Salon Set
About the Item
This is a superb parlor or salon set from a famous (though we can't say who) philanthropist from Manhattan. The set features gorgeous tapestry upholstery which we believe is Aubusson or less likely Belgian tapestry. The set had an original cost of 75000.00 plus tax for the original owner and was sold to us as the estate was sold due to downsizing. The set features a magnificent painted frame for each piece and dates to the 1920s era and is in good condition with minor signs of age and use.
Settee Measures 37.25 tall x 72.25 wide x 28.75 deep and seat height 17.75
Salon chairs measure 35.5 tall x 23.25 wide x 23.75 deep and seat height 17 inches tall.
