Antique King George III Period Wheelback Armchair or Side Chair Frame
About the Item
This antique armchair frame is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from England and date to approximately 1790 and done in the period King George III style. The chair is composed of walnut and features a large spoked wheel back with a stylized compass marquetry hub. This hand crafted wheel back has hand forged steel support brackets on etiher side. This chair frame is in good sturdy period condition, but the needlepoint upholstery shows considerable wear and fading.
