Antique Spanish or Renaissance Revival Oak and Leather Side Chairs - Set of 3
About the Item
A classic set of three rustic European revival chairs, likely from Spain or Italy. The oak frames are strong and stable. Note the intricately carved oak stretchers across the front. The original oversized brass tacks are all intact and add such character to this set. The old leather is all intact however there are some professionally repaired tears in the leather, most notable on one seat, see photos. The repairs are strong and allow the chair to be used. The seat backs are all in good antique condition with random scratches in the leather, but the leather is strong.
The chairs have webbing underneath and padding inside which make the seats useable however due to the condition of the old leather I wouldn't recommend using them very often. They are primarily for decorative and occasional use.
Condition commensurate with age and use. Leather has been conditioned with Fiebling's Aussie Leather Conditioner. Tears in the leather have been patched from the underside with conservation quality leather adhesive and new leather. The patches are stable and strong.
