Danish Empire Set of Four Mahogany Dining Chairs
About the Item
A magnificent set of four mahogany dining chairs from 19th century Denmark reflecting Empire and Biedermeier tastes for evocative design that is both luxurious and coded with historical references. The restrained, open seat backs feature a gently curved top rail over a gilded arch framing the splat, which is crowned with three gilded leaves. Black seat upholstery–upon closer inspection–reveals itself to be finely woven horse hair with faint chestnut brown highlights that is smooth to the touch and shines in the light. Cleaned, tightened, and polished, these exceptional side chairs are ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images. Sold as a set of four.
